Welcome!  The District of Columbia Deaf-blind Project website is your portal to learning about deaf-blindness and connecting with resources in the District of Columbia and beyond.

The District of Columbia Deaf-blind Project (DCDB) is a four-year federally funded project that provides a variety of services to improve educational outcomes for children and youth who are deaf-blind (ages 0- 21). DCDB is housed at the University of Maryland and is a partner project to Connections Beyond Sight and Sound, the Maryland Project for Children and Youth who are Deaf-blind.  DCDB is funded by the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

The main focus of the District of Columbia Deaf-blind Project is to identify children and youth who are deaf-blind who reside in the District of Columbia and to provide technical assistance and training to their families and the professionals working with them.
