National Family Association for Deaf-Blind (NFADB)

NFADB is a national network of families who focus on issues surrounding deaf-blindness. NFADB advocates for all persons who are deaf-blind, supports national policy to benefit people who are deaf-blind, and encourages the founding and strengthening of family organizations in each state.

American Federation for the Blind (AFB)

The American Federation for the Blind provides information on blindness and low vision as well as links to services, employment, and resources on topics of interest.

National Technical Assistance Consortium For Children And Young Adults Who Are Deaf-Blind [NTAC]

NTAC is a consortium for the provision of technical assistance to families and agencies serving children and young adults who are deaf-blind. The primary mission of NTAC is to assist states in improving the quality of services for individuals (birth to age 28) who are deaf-blind.

Hilton/Perkins Program -Perkins School for the Blind

U.S. Department Of Education Office Of Special Education Programs Division Of Research To Practice Projects For Children Who Are Deaf-Blind

The Office of Special Education Programs supports projects to improve and enhance services that are provided by state and local education agencies to children and youth who are deaf-blind. This is done through a program of grant awards that address technical assistance, research, development, pre-service and in-service training, and parental involvement activities.

Secondary Transition

National Center on Secondary Education and Transition

This project, sponsored by the Office of Special Education Programs and housed at the University of Minnesota, provides web-based training, access to publications, and resources on topics related to secondary education for students with disabilities and transition to post-secondary school settings.

Transition Coalition

The Transition Coalition at the University of Kansas provides a wide range of resources on the topic of transition for students with disabilities. This site includes several downloadable documents. The Coalition also sponsors on-line training and professional development opportunities as well as links to other websites of interest.

National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability (NCWD)

NCWD provides information on employment for youth with disabilities. This site includes downloadable documents on topics such as community based instruction, assistive technology, and policies related to persons with disabilities in the workplace.

National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Ceneter(NSTTAC).

NSTTAC is a national Technical Assistance and Dissemination center funded from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2010 by OSEP to assist states to build their capacity to support and improve transition planning, services and outcomes for youth with disabilities.

Positive Behavior Support

The Center for Effective Collaboration and Practice

The Center's goal is to foster collaboration at the federal, state, and local levels to help children who have or who are at risk for serious emotional disorders. Tehir site contains information on functional behavioral assessment, early intervention, school violence, children's mental health, and more.

The Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders

The CCBD, a division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), seeks to promote and facilitate the education and general welfare of children with emotional or behavioral disorders through awareness, advocacy, and professional support. Their site features a message board for parents and educators seeking information on managing with challenging behaviors. YOu can purchase their publications and read their quarterly newsletter online.

The OSEP TEchnical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

The Center was established by OSEP to provide schools with information and assistance on positive behavioral support and school-wide disciplinary interventions. You can find detailed information on functional assessment and classroom, individual, and school-wide PBS.

Rehabilitation, Research & Training Center on Positive Behavioral Support

The Center is a national research and training effort dedicated to disseminating research-based information to improve support for people with disabilities adn challenging behavior. The site offers detailed information on PBS and guidelines for best practices.
